Offer DescriptionVolumetric reconstruction at subcellular resolution of 3D biological tissues poses significant technological challenges, from the development of cutting-edge optical techniques to the analysis of the data produced. In this context, the candidate will develop a custom light sheet fluorescence microscope to perform high-resolution volumetric imaging of optically transparent human brainstem specimens. In detail, he/she will work on the implementation of the optical system and the electronic and IT interface necessary for the operation of the microscope to obtain solid and reliable results. Solutions to speed up data acquisition and to obtain an isotropic resolution of 1 um must be developed. The candidate will also be responsible for acquiring data on a previously cleared and labeled entire human brainstem and presenting the results through scientific articles and conferences.RequirementsAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaMaster’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology,
