Post title: Digital Health Technical Expert (Digital Education Studio)

Post ref: QMUL32271

Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions. We have over 32,000 students on degree programmes, close to 4,500 members of staff and an annual turnover of over £535m. Our university is made up of three faculties and a central Professional Services department.

The Role

This is an exciting time within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD). We have recently launched our new Digital Education Studio (DES), a centre of excellence where experts of digital education, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, will work together with teaching teams and students to co-design and advance digital learning and teaching practices.

The DES will be pivotal in establishing a new model for designing digital learning courses of consistent high quality and for a community of practice that will ensure the Faculty’s programmes continue to open the doors of opportunity to a Queen Mary University of London education, broadening access to students who are most often under-represented in higher education.

To support the next stages of our ambitious plans, we are looking to appoint an educational content creator within the DES to support the development of an online Digital Health programme.

This pivotal role will provide you with the opportunity to support the growth of digital education in FMD. A highly skilled individual will be critical in working on the creation of study materials, educational resources, and other digital assets relating primarily to the Digital Health programme, as well as taking the lead on other administrative tasks required for the development of the course. This role will involve being at the forefront of content creation within the Faculty, which will aim to inspire and engage potential students, as well as inject flair to programmes delivered both in-person and online. Working alongside senior colleagues within the DES and in partnership with the rest of the Faculty and a key international partner, this role offers you the chance to shape the future of Digital Education within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, including supporting the impact digital education can and will have on the workforce of the future.

This position is available on a fixed-term basis of 6 months, in the first instance.

About You

Within Queen Mary University of London, and in particular within the newly developed DEA we actively welcome diversity of ideas, thought and background. For this reason, while an understanding of the Digital Education industry would be beneficial, it is not essential that you come from a Higher Education background. What we want is passion for delivering transformation, creativity in thought and a desire to use your subject matter expertise in creating educational content to help shape our ambitious plans.

You are likely to have worked at a similar level and might see our role as the ideal opportunity to add to your current production portfolio and deliver real change. Alternatively, you might have been part of a much larger team and might see our role as your opportunity to have overall accountability for delivery.

Whatever your motivations for applying, you will have the ability to develop digital content for a high-profile project, which will deliver positive change to Digital Health professionals and service users. have an awareness of pedagogical approaches and, most importantly, be innovative, creative, and bold in your approach to content creation.

The closing date is Tuesday, 28th March 2023.

Interviews are expected to be held shortly thereafter.
