What you’ll doAs Director Architecture, Construction & Maintenance you are responsible for all commercial and technical investment projects in the store network, the warehouses and office buildings, you guarantee business continuity by maintaining the whole Real Estate portfolio of Delhaize BeLux and you manage the risks linked to important investments, and contracts by building compliant and auditproof processes.As Director Architecture, Construction & Maintenance, you are the strategic driving force behind all our real estate development and maintenance operations across Belgium and Luxembourg. You will:

• Define the development and the implementation of a long-term vision in a strategic masterplan which acts as a lead to define mid-and short-term investments.
• Translate commercial needs into qualitative, cost-effective, and compliant infrastructure projects aligned with our brand identity.
• Ensure business continuity by developing audit-proof, risk-managed, and sustainable technical processes for both Capex and Opex investments.
• Drive Delhaize’s energy transition and decarbonization roadmap through the implementation of renewable energy solutions and sustainable building techniques.
• Ensure good execution and coordination of projects (building of the casco and the commercial fit out), in line with the agreed deliverables, in order to ensure the timely realization of projects, within budget and according to agreed objectives/standards in quality.
• Oversee architecture, construction, technical installations, and preventive maintenance across all sites.
• Lead a department of 70 professionals, ensuring optimal staffing, efficient collaboration, and a culture of safety and excellence.
• Be a key ambassador for our sustainability ambitions and technical innovations, both internally and externally.
• Play a role of strategic advisor for the affiliates in reducing their cost and emissions.

You report directly to senior leadership and are a key contributor to strategic committees.Who are you?You’re more than just a technical expert – you’re a visionary, a bridgebuilder, and a people leader. You bring:

• A Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Architecture.
• At least 10 to 15 years of senior experience in architecture, construction or technical project management, ideally within a large-scale or multi-site environment.
• A strong strategic mindset, with the ability to define and implement multiyear roadmaps across different asset types.
• Outstanding skills in stakeholder management, project leadership, and financial acumen (business cases, NPV, ROI).
• A strong affinity with sustainability, and proven experience leading energy and decarbonization strategies.
• Natural leadership and coaching skills, with a solid track record in team and change management.
• Fluency in Dutch, French and English – spoken and written.
