This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and structure of the new curriculum within the School of Medicine.
The Director of Simulation at the University of Nottingham’s School of Medicine is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of simulation-based and digital learning activities for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) undergraduate degree program. You will play a crucial part in enhancing clinical skills and competencies through immersive and experiential learning, preparing medical students for real-world healthcare environments. This role would suit a clinician with a passion for teaching, scholarship and development of simulation and digital learning technologies to meet the needs of the future medical workforce.
Nottingham is a sought-after UK University in which to study medicine and has one of the largest yearly intakes of medical students. Our BMBS medicine programmes have a total of around 2500 students at any one time with various routes of entry.
This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced clinical academic to shape the simulation-based learning experiences of future medical professionals and contribute to the School of Medicine’s commitment to excellence in medical education at the University of Nottingham.
As this is a University clinical academic appointment, it is a requirement that you maintain regular NHS clinical practice, GMC registration, a licence to practice and entry on the GMC Speciality or GP Register, be revalidated with the GMC and undertake an appraisal according to Follett principles.
This is a permanent position. Hours of work are part time, 20 hours per week, hours and days to be agreed with the successful candidate.
