The role

The Open University is recruiting Disability Support Assistants.

The Disability Support Team is seeking student focussed team players to provide administration, information, advice and support to disabled and prospective students leading to successful progression, qualification and satisfaction.

You will be a frontline service expert with a proven ability of working through a variety of communication channels, applying a confident, flexible and pragmatic approach to supporting students within a team environment to maximise success through the successful delivery of query handling and resolution. 

The workload associated with this post is demanding but also rewarding. It is a stimulating and varied role within a friendly specialist team.  You will work with other student support areas to ensure consistent effective services and concentrate on the delivery of expert disability advice and support.

Skills and experience

This role will suit you if you have:

  • A high level of customer service experience within a similar environment is essential complimented by successful communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience of inbound and outbound calling in a complex customer service or similar environment.
  • You will be working with confidential data requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working to tight deadlines.
