About the roleSZC is ultimately owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG. The shareholders hold their investment in SZC through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. Over the course of the current shareholding arrangements the shareholdings of the two shareholders will change.The shareholders will fund SZC up until Financial Close through equity in line with the approved schedule and budget. SZC’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure (including activities relating to hydrogen, direct air capture and/or desalination) at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The principal objectives of the current
development phase of the SZC project are to agree and implement the Capital Raise Plan, including completing an equity and debt raise, agree the core supply chain contracts and obtain the regulatory permits and licences required for the construction phase of the Project (including the core environmental permits and nuclear site licence).Prior to the government investment decision SZC operated as part of EDF in the Nuclear Development business unit and was staffed by EDF colleagues and independent contractors who are now in the process of transferring to the direct employment of SZC. It is setting itself up as an organisation capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant, from investment case and funding, to construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning.The SZC construction programme has a technical and commercial business case predicated on technical replication of Hinkley Point C. EDF will be an important supplier of nuclear capability for the SZC Programme from its established nuclear business footprint in the UK.Key stakeholders are: UK Government, relevant Government departments and agencies including Treasury BEIS, EDF, Financial investors and institutions, Regulators, Alliance partners and local communities.What you’ll be doingThe purpose of the role is: To be a member of the Project Quality team. To support the Quality team in administering quality management systems and organisation.

  • Follow-up and expediting the construction execution documents, quality records, Client’s returned comments.
  • Perform registration, track review & approvals within Contractor’s team, issue and track in Client’s system project deviations (Request for Information, Field Change Requests, Non-conformances, observations). Assist in controlling & following deviations until closure and capturing in the handover reports
  • Assist in the compilation and indexing of quality records (Certificates, Life-time quality records, hand-over reports) at stages of the Project
  • Quality checking documents for compliance (format, completion, signatures, etc..), tracking reviews & approvals, controlling all disciplines checks required for compliance to project requirements and prior to issuance into the Clients digital systems
  • Support the Quality Team to prepare and issue documents in terms of formatting
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as taking minutes of meeting, maintaining registers
  • Coordinating with Internal teams, Suppliers and Client the documents/quality records from issuance to acceptance
  • Tracking completion of handover files
  • Train teams, Suppliers and Client’s staff on document requirements, processes and use of our digital tools
  • Ensure system improvements established are properly implemented
  • Be the Quality point of contact for the Contractor’s teams and Suppliers
  • Liaise with the Client’s on minor day to day workflows and document issues.
  • Administer the quality teams and quality audits
  • Inform the Quality Manager of issues, adjustments and improvements required in the supporting means such as templates, registers and digital systems, which require administrator rights
  • Implement and monitor digital systems workflows to ensure always the correct version at the point of use
  • Provide weekly, monthly, progress reports and other reports as required.
  • Ensure all standard document templates are readily accessible and properly used by all staff
  • Ensure documents entering our digital systems comply with its requirements
  • Provide Weekly and Monthly reports on key performance data as required by Management and the Client
  • Provide other reports on request

Who we’re looking for

  • Preferable experience in Documentation Digital Systems/IM Admin or someone with advanced IT skills and a background in Construction and/or Quality Assurance.
  • Proficient in excel or keen in upgrading skills
  • Experience and familiarity in major construction works and the types of information handled
  • Experience in training and implementation of various digital tools, using Teamcenter and Asite will be hugely beneficial
  • Accurate, meticulous, proactive, efficient, self-organizing, a good communicator
  • Data focused, analytical and organisational skills to set-up systems
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, internal teams and suppliers at all levels.
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
  • Pro-active, innovative, self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function
  • Team player but also very autonomous
  • Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively.
  • A high proficiency in using common software, particularly MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat
