If you want to continue your career as a scientist (tenure track) and have a keen interest in fish feed and nutrition, we have an excellent opportunity for you.We are seeking a Tenure Track Researcher to supplement our international group on fish feed and nutrition, specifically related to (new) raw materials and their application in aquaculture feeds. You will play a crucial role in investigating the potential of such materials and their impact on nutrition and performance of farmed fish.In this position, you will work closely with colleagues in the Section for Aquaculture at DTU Aqua in Hirtshals, Denmark, to investigate raw materials, their potential as ingredients in fish feeds, and their effects on nutrition, growth, and welfare of the fish.Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen the departments competences and activities within fish feed and nutrition specifically in relation to investigating and optimising the nutritional value of different raw materials in fish feed. You will work on chemical composition, amino acid profiles, antinutritional factors, digestive processes, digestibility, and feed utilization addressing specific ingredients as well as formulated fish feeds.The successful candidate will bring a relevant research record and a collaborative mindset, and possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in animal (preferably fish) nutrition
  • Demonstrated experience in nutritional studies on living animals
  • Demonstrated experience in lab. operations (e.g. chemical analyses, HPLC, GCMS)
  • Experience in formulation and production of extruded feeds

You must contribute to the teaching of courses and supervision of students. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
