About the role 

Staffordshire University is recruiting a Campus Security Team Leader (Nights) to join their busy campus security team in Stoke

The role works on a shift basis and we require a degree of flexibility as this role is part of a 24/7, 365 day service. The core night shift hours for this role are 8pm – 6am, on a 4 on 4 off rota.

This is an exciting opportunity and a role like no other! The team plays a pivotal role in the health and safety of staff, students and visitors to the university, as well as providing 24 hour security services. Most importantly, we provide welfare support for students, working closely with wellbeing and other services across the university through our 24 hour provision. 

The role is fast paced and responsive, with no two days being the same! You will play a key role in developing and fostering relationships with everyone on campus, in order for us to maintain a safe, secure environment.

We are currently going through a period of transformation and service improvement, so this is an exciting time to join a diverse and highly skilled team!

Successful candidates will have previous experience of managing a busy team, a security background or other relevant experience and so you must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example and be capable of driving your team forward.

You’ll be committed to delivering exceptional levels of customer service, you’ll be diplomatic in conflict and you’ll be genuinely interested in and able to empathise with individuals in a wide variety of situations. You will be a positive individual and committed team player, but with the ability to work independently and on your own initiative. You must be comfortable with technology and computer literate as we are a digital university. 

As a team we go beyond the traditional security boundaries and as an individual you must be highly skilled and flexible to deal with this challenging and varied role. The ability to embrace change is a must.
