ROLE TITLE: EH&S SPECIALIST – Projects -Profile of successful candidate offered – PHD (we need a minimum of a Level 8), 15 years in EHS (not construction) with the most recent being in a regulated manufacturing environment. Experience with capital projects. Experience with machine safety (ideal for this role). Prior experience in pharma.

JOB DESCRIPTIONProvide EH&S project support for projects at the Cork site. Acts as an SME and advisor to all project teams on site with EHS legislation and client EH&S Standards.GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary role –

• Conduct EHS Impact Assessments (IA) as part of the Management of the Change process to ensure that all EHS requirements and client standards are incorporated

Implement Client ‘EH&S by Design’ & One CSS as required for projects.

• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, JSAs, noise /IH/ergonomics / WRAPs (machine safety) assessments, FATs / SATs, and walkdowns as required.
• Support IA action closure & tracking.
• Perform periodic walkdowns / audits/program reviews to ensure compliance with PTW requirements, IED license, SOPs & regulatory requirements.
• Collating and reporting of relevant metrics / KPIs
• Lead/participate in incident/accident investigations & root cause analyses (RCA).
• PTW Improvements – work with other functions to drive improvements in the site PTW process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Previous experience working to ISO14001 and ISO45001 international standards, preferably
within a Biopharma/pharmaceutical or related environment is required.ESSENTIAL:A relevant third-level qualification in Science, Engineering, or EHS, with at least 5 years of experience in the environment, health, and safety area is a prerequisite for the position.
Good overall knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in both Environment and Safety
Creates dashboards, and PowerPoint presentations and can track and trend KPIs, assembling information into clearly written reports, documented findings or recommendations, and communicating this progress in an easily understandable manner to all stakeholders.DESIRABLE:

• Machine safety experience would be a distinct advantage
