Applications are invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin: Post: Electronic Hardware Engineer – SM:ART Project – Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (Post aligned to a Post-Doc Researcher for pay purposes only) (Fixed term Specified purpose contract for 2 years) (Reference: 521/2024) Location: The post will be based at the TU Dublin Campuse i.e. Grangegorman (Parkhouse), Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Hours of Work: A 37 hour working week is in operation. Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed the salary scale aligned to point (01) of the Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale i.e. €47,412 gross per annum. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy. Closing Date: 02nd January 2025 at 5.00 p.m. (Irish time). Late applications will not be accepted. It is anticipated that interviews for this post will take place in week beginning 27th January 2025. The interview assessment will be 40 minutes in length and will include a presentation of 10 minutes duration. A PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field or At least 4-5 additional years of specialised professional experience in hardware research and development, system design, or leadership in complex engineering projects, on top of the primary experience requirement (Essential). Extensive experience of at least 3 years in designing and developing electronic hardware, particularly for sensor systems or IoT applications, with proficiency in PCB design and the development of low-power embedded systems, including expertise in wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, LoRa) (Essential). Demonstrated expertise through industry projects or publications of environmental sensor technologies, including methods for measuring chloride ion concentration and corrosion potential,
