We aim to continue building our truly inclusive culture – come and join us.We are looking for an experienced and innovative Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the ownership and maintenance of our core code that is made use of company-wide in an inner-source model. The team’s mandate involves ensuring adherence to the highest code quality standards; optimizing routines and architecture for performance, reliability, and robustness; constantly enhancing the usability of the code by various teams across the company; and facilitating new contributions so that others can make use of the latest cutting-edge developments. The ideal candidate has experience leading such a team with preferably hands-on experience in software architecture and familiarity with routines applied to large-language models and other AI systems.As a manager you will

• Drive architectural improvements to enhance code quality, performance, and maintainability.

• Proactive collaboration to support adoption and integration of shared-code components.

• Establish and enforce best practices for inner-source contributions and code standards, adapting policies to reduce frictions felt by contributors.

• Act as a technical partner in designing and refining AI and LLM-related systems.

• Advocate for developer experience, usability, and self-service patterns in shared codebases.

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
• Identify and manage project risks, developing contingency plans to address unforeseen obstacles and maintain project momentum.
• Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, providing guidance and direction to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively, fostering a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
• Monitor project performance and take proactive measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Foster clear and transparent communication channels with stakeholders, team members, and senior management to provide updates on project status, milestones, and potential challenges.
• Collaborate and communicate with other managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities.
• Demonstrate an understanding of company objectives and effectively participate in the development and implementation of business solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, software architecture, data science, IT and/or other relevant engineering domains.
• 1+ year of successful management experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a technology-driven company.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, with experience in building and maintaining scalable systems.
• Demonstrated success improving developer workflows and enabling collaboration across teams.
• Excellent command of Python, Docker and Git.
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab workflows and functionalities.
• Familiarity with LLMs and Generative AI techniques, such as fine tuning, pruing, RAG, transfer learning, etc.
• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration and maintain strong relationships. Perfect command of English.
• Solid organizational and time-management skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field.
• Prior experience working in an inner-source or open-source software development model.
• Background in performance optimization and code refactoring at scale.
• Experience facilitating knowledge-sharing and onboarding for technical contributions.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, or computer vision; or mathematical optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with LLMs and Generative AI techniques such as fine tuning, pruning, RAG systems, transfer learning etc.
