Job summaryAt East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, we are committed to delivering excellent patient care and exploring opportunities for continuous service delivery improvements.The EOC Clinical Hub are looking to recruit experienced operational clinicians into the Clinical Navigator role in the EOC Clinical Hub. The role will be accountable to the EOC Senior Manager (Clinical) but also forms key relationships with the area management teams (EOC Head of Clinical Services, Clinical Workforce Managers and EOC Senior Clinical Leaders) and the wider EOC Team.Main duties of the jobThe EOC Clinical Navigator will act as the orchestrating clinician providing clinical Navigation to all incidents. The Clinical Navigator will ensure the safety of the waiting patients under the leadership of the EOC Clinical Commander, by reviewing rapidly a waiting 999/111 call to see if suitable for clinical validation or ambulance dispatch.The Clinical Navigator will also provide clinical support to colleagues in EOC and in operations.   • Registered Paramedic (HCPC) with 3 years post registration experience or Registered Nurse with 3 years Post registration with a minimum of two in a patient facing operational role

Desirable

  • Remote telephone consultation experience
  • Degree Level Education or operational experience
  • Ability to interpret data effectively in order to make meaningful judgments & decisions
  • Mentoring qualification
  • Evidence of undertaking additional skills training, willingness to be developed further

Knowledge and SkillsEssential

  • ICT skills5
  • Ability to assess patients using the medical model

Professional DevelopmentEssential

  • Experience of supporting staff in a clinical environment
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development demonstrating the desire to manage patients in the community and make evidence-based decisions
  • Evidence of significant pre-hospital emergency care experience in an ambulance environment
