Name: Content gathering trip in Poland and Ukraine for Ukraine Response

 

Oxfam Ukraine response under PMU hereby call for demonstration of interest from consultancy firms to send their bids for the mention consultancy.

 

Scope and Thematic focus

At Oxfam we know conflict has gendered impacts and implications. The war in Ukraine is no different. Around 90% of refugees have been women, children and elderly people and 57% of IDPs are women. Martial law has placed restrictions on a large number of men who could be conscripted into the military. The LGBTQIA+ community also face particular risks and challenges relating to the conflict and humanitarian crisis which are exacerbations of existing marginalisation in Ukrainian society. Additionally, cases of GBV are rising steeply and there are fears that this will only increase as collective and individual psychological impacts of the war deepen.

Oxfam is partnering with several women’s rights, women-led organisations and LGBTQIA+ organisations and ensuring that our humanitarian response is designed to respond to the gendered impacts of the crisis. 

Two years on from the escalation of the crisis, Oxfam will analyse the gendered experiences of those affected by the Ukraine crisis, the impact on women’s rights organisations and challenges they are facing. We will examine what is needed to respond to the needs of women and people of diverse SOGIESC and how the international community can better support women’s leadership.
