Do you have a proven track record of supporting the communication of EDI strategies, initiatives and inclusion best practice?  Are you looking to develop your career in a collaborative University environment?

We are looking for an equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) professional with strong communication skills to lead on creating greater engagement in our EDI Strategy, plans and projects. Our vision is that our community of staff and students feels well-informed about EDI and understands how as individuals, teams and collaborative partners, they can help to progress positive change. This is a new role in the Equality and Inclusion Unit to focus specifically on communications and engagement.

You will have experience of working in an EDI role, with good knowledge of current EDI matters and awareness of best practice, appropriate language and political sensitivities. You will have evidence of your ability to plan, deliver and oversee innovative engagement activities that are responsive to the staff and student voices, particularly those from under-represented groups. You’ll need excellent planning, writing, editing and stakeholder liaison skills and an ability to assimilate and simplify complex information.

You must be able to work flexibly and independently, reprioritising as needed, while meeting deadlines. Experience of communication and engagement activity in a unionised employer environment would be beneficial.This role reports to the EDI Manager and will have a strong working relationship with the Communications and Engagement team, including a dotted reporting line into the Head of Internal Communications.
