This is a  full-time, permanent post in the Schools of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Experience required for post: Substantial administration experience. Experience of working autonomously and handling sensitive corporate information. The post holder is expected to exercise a high level of confidentiality at all times. This role will have access to a very wide range of confidential Faculty issues where discretion, good judgement, sensitive communication skills and good literacy skills are vital

Overall purpose of post: To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Heads of the School of the Built Environment and the School of Architecture

The post will involve:

  • diary management, communication within the designated school and wider faculty • liaising with colleagues within the faculty and across the University to share good practice.
  • acting as secretary to school and other relevant committees chaired by the designated member of the executive team.
  • liaision, on behalf of the designated members of the executive team, with staff in the faculty and across the University and with external organisations as appropriate by telephone, letter or in person.
  • responsible for the administration of all academic recruitment and selection activity, liaising closely with the Faculty Administrator.

You should have:

  • a good standard of academic qualifications or relevant experience and excellent written English • experience of working autonomously and handling sensitive corporate information.
  • fine-tuned, high quality communication and interpersonal skills.
  • excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
  • the ability to work closely with, and influence senior and academic staff.
  • minute-writing skills.
  • the ability to work successfully as part of a team • the ability to use software packages appropriate to an office environment.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
