Based at: Blakehill Farm, north Wiltshire

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is seeking to recruit an experienced Farm Officer in north Wiltshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for grazing some of Britain’s most important
wildflower meadows.

You will be a vital part of the team responsible for delivering the Aims and Objectives set out
in the WWT Strategic Plan 2023-2030, through strategic conservation projects, reserves
management, habitat creation projects, partnership building and local advocacy.

This is a role that involves a wide range of functions including land and livestock management,
conservation knowledge, health and safety and engagement with volunteers, contractors and
partner organisations. The northern farming operation is based at our Lower Moor Farm and
Blakehill Farm Reserves where we calve up to 90 Belted Galloway, Aberdeen Angus and Beef
Shorthorn suckler cows each year. All cattle are housed during winter on a forage diet based on
our own haylage. Youngstock are either sold as stores or finished off grass at approximately 36
months.
