We have three opportunities to join the team at the North Pennines AONB Partnership as a Field
Officer until 31 May 2025.
The emphasis of the role will be on working with landowners, managers and contractors to
deliver an ambitious programme of peatland restoration projects in the North Pennines.
You will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:-
- Negotiating with landowners, managers, agents and keepers in the North Pennines AONB to
develop and agree peatland restoration projects. - Writing tender specifications, providing supporting documents, tender work and managing
contracts for peatland restoration projects across the North Pennines. - Monitoring the impacts of restoration work on the peatlands.
- Liaising with agencies including Natural England, Environment Agency and water companies to
agree shared priorities for peatland and catchment management in the North Pennines and to
deliver contracts on behalf of those agencies where appropriate.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a nature conservation or a related field.
Salary: Grade 10 £33,820 – £37,261 per annum.
Employment Location: Your normal place of work will be North Pennines AONB Office, Stanhope,
plus hybrid working, but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County
Durham.
