This is an exciting and wide-ranging role within a small and dynamic team, responsible for providing high profile reporting and analysis to all levels of the University. You will have the opportunity to influence senior decision makers and have visibility across the University and within the sector. This is a time of transition for the University, with a renewed emphasis on data-driven decision making. The FP&A team is a key part of this endeavour. About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis this role is a key part of a small, friendly and supportive team working centrally in the Finance Division. We provide widely recognised expertise for a number of key financial management processes and systems including planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

The job holder will provide support and advice for Finance professionals involved in budgeting and forecasting across the University and will be a recognised expert in this field with a reputation as a specialist ensuring that the information produced by these processes is reliable and high quality.

In addition the job holder will provide analysis to support central decision making and prepare key annual returns to the Office for Students. As a centre of excellence for analysis this role will be a key point of co-ordination and expertise for Divisional and departmental teams providing them with support and know-how to develop optimal solutions for data analysis.

You will be based in Hythe Bridge Street but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

About You

You will hold a recognised accounting qualification at CCAB/CIMA level or equivalent and have strong analytical skills with an emphasis on interrogating and understanding data and its sources. You will have broad-based, relevant accounting experience, with proven and demonstrable technical skills, including financial planning.

Using your strong and effective communication skills with finance and non-finance staff, you will be able to operate effectively in an intellectually challenging environment. You will have strong IT skills, with in depth understanding of financial systems and tools, including experience of analytical tools, and should be able to demonstrate using such systems and delivering effective management information.

With strong numeracy skills and high levels of personal effectiveness, you will be somenone who can build and maintain relationships with a large network of key contacts, influending them to ensure key  deadlines can be met.
