This is a full-time, fixed-term position (2-year).
Bishop Grosseteste University is located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city. In recent years we’ve undergone an explosion of growth in many areas, remaining a small and friendly university whilst expanding and developing our portfolio of courses into more exciting new areas than ever before. We still consider ourselves experts in education – we have been doing it for 160 years after all – but our teaching courses now sit alongside an exciting range of other disciplines. This is an exciting time of expansion and growth for the institution and BGU will be able to provide you with the opportunity to develop your career and contribute to our ongoing success.
We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Careers, Employability and Enterprise Advisor.
The Apprentice will support the needs of students accessing the BG Futures Careers, Employability and Enterprise Department, oversee BG Futures Online development, deliver group sessions to students on academic programmes and manage graduate and other vacancies from employers and voluntary agencies. They will lead on the delivery of the Mentoring Programme initiative.
They will work towards the Level 6 Career Development Professional Apprenticeship to develop skills in one-to-one student interviews, offering Careers Advice initially then progressing to Guidance interviewing.
BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:
o 25 days holiday for Grades 1-6
o 35 days holiday for Grades 7+
o Plus 3 additional discretionary days annual leave over the Christmas period
o Various pension scheme options including a Local Government Pension Scheme offering up to a 19.5% Employer Contribution, a Teacher Pension scheme offering up to 23.68% Employer Contribution, and also a 10% non-contributory pension for members of staff that do not wish to pay into a scheme.
o A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme including free online GP services and face to face counselling sessions
o Agile Working Scheme to support employees work-life balance
