Offer DescriptionThe Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) aims to create a new full-time chair in Macroeconomics.The University of Groningen, founded in 1614, has a strong focus on research. We are in the top 100 of several influential university ranking lists. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is one of the largest faculties of the University with approximately 7,000 students. It has a strong international reputation and is AACSB and EQUIS accredited.The Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance is the largest Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business with almost 150 staff members and over 20 PhD students. The research activities of the Department are embedded in the research programme Economics, Econometrics and Finance of FEBRI, the research school of FEB. The Department is an active and international research community, performing at the highest international level in terms of research and publications.
The Department is mainly involved in a Bachelor program in Economics and Business Economics and a bachelor program in Econometrics and Operations Research. In addition, it offers, among other things, master programs in Economics and Econometrics. In all these programs, macroeconomics courses are offered. Finally, the Department also actively participates in the Research Master program, offering macroeconomics courses to research master and PhD students.Positioning and description of the chair
The chair in Macroeconomics is part of the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance. The new professor will participate in the research program Economics, Econometrics and Finance of FEBRI. The chair will contribute to high-quality research and teaching in Macroeconomics. The new professor in Macroeconomics will play a central role in the Department and is expected to be the leading researcher within the Faculty with respect to macroeconomics by conducting independent research and by publishing in high-ranked international journals in the field of Macroeconomics.Responsibilities and duties

We offer a salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting from € 6,099 (Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) to a maximum of € 10,721 gross salary per month for a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees.
