The Rivers Trust is a leading environmental charity and the umbrella body of The Rivers
Trust movement, comprising over 60 independent local charities. Our vision is for wild,
healthy, natural rivers, valued by all. We are at a critical point in our history as we expand
to deliver projects to protect and replenish this critical part of the natural environment, and
our research and expertise is now needed more urgently than ever as water supply and quality
move up the public agenda.
We are seeking a highly organised, efficient and dynamic individual to take on the brand new
role of Fundraising Manager, co-ordinating core and strategic fundraising for The Rivers Trust,
supporting and facilitating the Senior Management Team. We have had considerable success with
securing project funding, and have achieved rapid growth in headcount and delivery as a result,
but we need to increase income for core functions such as HR, IT, finance, communications and
project development. We take a team approach to fundraising and income generation, so you will
be working with others, but you will also need to take a lead on some projects on your own.
You should ideally have excellent people, planning and project management skills, with a proven
track record in charity fundraising. You will also have a strong commitment to our mission and
a good understanding of environmental issues.
Principal roles and responsibilities:
This is a full-time, home-based, permanent position (subject to ongoing funding). We offer
flexibility around working hours – time off in lieu is also available. We offer 25 days holiday
pro rata (rising to 28 days) plus statutory holiday days. We pride ourselves on being an equal
opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all communities. We are happy to adjust
for people with disabilities and/or caring responsibilities.
The role is a grade 4 position with a starting salary of £39,037, plus benefits
including 9% employer pension contribution.
