Elsoms Seeds, the UK’s leading independent seed specialist and plant breeder, has an exciting opportunity for a Genomics Researcher to join our Research & Development team in Spalding.About Us
With a proud history dating back to 1844, we remain a family-owned business focused on breeding, supplying, and treating high-quality vegetable and agricultural seeds. Our R&D team drives innovation, tackling global challenges like sustainable food production and food security.Your Role
You’ll work in our dedicated laboratories, managing internal and external genomics research projects. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing markers/genes for commercially relevant traits, performing bioinformatics tasks, and enabling marker-assisted selection.What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from candidates with:

• A PhD (or equivalent experience) in genetics or plant sciences.
• Experience in plant biology, genetics, or laboratory work.
• Excellent scientific knowledge and methodology, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with external research organisation

Experience in agriculture or horticulture, as well as familiarity with our lab areas, is a bonus!What We Offer

• Salary: £35,000-£45,000 (dependent on experience)
• 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays (rising with service)
