Job descriptionThis is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a committed Humanities team. The successful candidate will have a passion for geography and be dedicated to delivering high-quality teaching that sparks curiosity about the world and empowers students to understand global issues. Beginning September 2025.Duties as Geography Teacher:Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)Promote geographical literacy and an understanding of physical and human geographyCreate a positive learning environment that motivates and challenges all studentsMonitor and assess student progress, setting high expectations and offering constructive feedbackContribute to the development and refinement of the geography curriculum and departmental resourcesPrepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (e.g., GCSE and A-Level)Organise or support enrichment activities such as fieldwork, trips, and geography-related clubsEngage with parents/carers and contribute to whole-school events and initiativesFulfil duties as a form tutor and support students’ personal, social, and academic developmentParticipate actively in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school improvement initiativesIdeal Geography Teacher:Be a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Geography or a related subjectHave experience teaching across at least Key Stages 3 and 4Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for global issues, sustainability, and current eventsBe committed to high standards of teaching and learningHave excellent classroom management and organisational skills as a Geography Teacher.Be a team player with a proactive and positive attitudeWhy Step Teachers?With a rich history spanning over two decades, our teacher recruitment agency proudly serves North London, East London, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Cornwall, and Devon.
