Become our Global Graduate Trainee R&D Plant Based Solutions UHT and join our rapidly growing, global team!Over the course of our 3-year Graduate Trainee program, you have the opportunity to take part in 3 annual rotations within our Research & Development departments in the BU Plant Based Solutions UHT in HQ and with a mission abroad (+/- 1 year foreign experience).You are responsible for:Year 1: Fabulous Project: Join us in finding a UHT egg wash alternative using a new plant-based ingredient.

• You will get the opportunity to study new plant-based ingredient functionality with our suppliers and Puratos’ research group.
• You develop prototypes on a lab scale and follow up on shelf-life.
• You investigate the impact of UHT processing on the new plant-based ingredient.
• You apply prototypes to various bakery products.
• You assist in the transition from R&D to production.

Year 2: Beverages: Explore alternative raw materials and suppliers to mitigate single sourcing risks and explore cost-saving solutions.

• You support new product development for beverages (e.g., whippable topping, flavoring sauce).
• You drive innovation in Beverages with a focus on Health & Wellbeing, Plant-Based, and Clean(er) label solutions.
• You emphasize the value of Puratos ingredients.
• You implement the ‘nail it-scale it’ principle in 4 pilot countries.

Year 3: Market Support Innovate and develop the UHT business in a local market or UHT-producing country by:

• Strengthening and training the local team.
• Transferring knowledge from the first two years at HQ.
• Understanding and adapting to customer needs.

The goal of our program is to prepare talented, passionate professionals towards future leading roles within our company.Each Graduate Trainee will be assigned to an expert Mentor, who will ensure you receive all the continuous support and training you need to be successful during your 3 annual rotations. After your 3-year graduate program you move to an exciting role within Puratos to build further your career within our global business.Who are we looking for?

• A Master’s Degree from a University with excellent academic track record (Bioscience engineering, Food Technology,…)
• You will either be in your final year of University study, or have graduated within the past 12 to 18 months (more experienced candidates are welcome to apply to other roles at Puratos via our careers page)
• Knowledge about food formulation and processing
• A first work or Internship experience, preferably in the Food, FMCG or similar industry
• Drive for innovation, teamwork, flexibility and achievement orientation
• Engagement and Passion for the Food industry
• Be fully mobile to work in different global business areas/ locations
• Be fully business-fluent in English (French, Dutch and/or other European languages highly advantageous)
