Job Description Summary Location: Barcelona, Spain #LI-HybrideAbout the role: This role drives the digital transformation of the Business Planning & Analysis (BPA, “business finance” or FP&A) function into a data and AI/ML-driven advanced analytics and value-creation powerhouse. The Global Senior Manager Digital Finance (GSMDF) will shape our future finance/BPA organization and the way we support our business using AI, ML & digital. This includes project management, process and organizational design and reengineering, and identifying and managing interdependencies with other digital initiatives throughout the company (e.g. market access & pricing, commercial functions, production/supply chain, the corporate digital office, etc.) The GSMDF takes an active part in orchestrating the development and implementation of AI/ML-powered components for financial forecasting and planning, marketing and sales-related data science analytics. The role owns the execution of assigned projects driving change across the organization, including transformational activities, working independently and with extensive autonomy. Without being a technology expert, the GSMDF is part-nering with data scientists, software and data engineers and visualization experts to build digital business solutions.Your responsibilities will be but are not limited to:Job DescriptionCo-develops vision and supports prioritization of new AI-/decision-making tools in close alignment with the BPA/Finance functions of different business unitsOwns selected AI/ML products and heads their design, development and implementation by orchestrating the right resources across data science and visualization experts. Ensures successful roll-out, adoption and ongoing operations.Connects newly designed solutions and processes with operational links and leverages her/his operations acumen to pragmatically implement in the Novartis environmentIdentifies areas of inefficiencies in the application of AI/ML/digital and implements improvements towards a highly efficient, “industrialized” approach (“technology at scale”)Liaises with other digital/AI initiatives (e.g. commercial, supply chain, pricing and market access, treasury, investor relations,…), identifies potential overlaps/ synergies, and co-creates holistic digitalization roadmapCo-shapes future organization of BPA/ Finance function to realize systemic evolutionWorks closely with broader Digital Finance and Data & IT team to define data requirements for next generation AI tools to further improve decision-making and efficienciesIdentifies proactively industry benchmarks that trigger/sparkle change initiatives.
