We have an exciting new opportunity for a new IT Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain hardware and software components, ensuring the smooth running of computer systems. IT Technician responsibilities include installing and configuring computer hardware and software and being a primary point of contact for IT support.
The Digital IT Service is a 24/7 operation and there may be a requirement to work out of hours, when required to ensure high service availability and completion of planned changes.
Digital Services (DS) refer to the application of business and technical expertise to enable the creation, management, and optimization of or access to information and business processes. This function is the first point of contact for end user issues and is supported by Digital IT Service Desk, Technical Services and Operations Management.

- Delivery of hardware and software services (including audio visual) to the University; face to face, over the phone or remotely
- Perform an initial assessment of all incidents using scripts, knowledge base, taught knowledge, and best practice; this may lead to a first attempt at incident resolution and/ or referral to 2nd and 3rd line support within DIT
- Undertaking IT diagnostics and problem solving and work within guidance of the Service Desk Policy. Use case management tools to store, update and track info on cases for resolution and/ or service delivery
- Resolve IT based incidents and fulfil IT based service requests following documented case management processes and knowledge articles
