Please note that you must pre-book before attending. We look forward to seeing you soon!We are offering a full training course to become a Learning Mentor at Abbey School. This will consist of lots of training sessions and shadowing classes before working independently as a 1:1 supporting pupils. We aim to give you a career with us, with lots of professional development opportunities. We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic individuals with a passion to support children and young people with SEN who have transferrbale skills. • Play a key role in providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs throughout all aspects of the school day
• Work with pupils both individually and in small groups supporting them to overcome barriers to learning, delivering teaching, providing positive behaviour support and delivering other focused interventions.
• Work as part of a class team, under the direction of the class teacher and trans-disciplinary colleagues, to deliver effective and appropriate teaching, learning and behaviour support in all areas of school life
• Monitor and track progress, providing regular feedback as needed
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for people with:

• Experience of supporting children and young people with complex needs, or transferrable skills from similar fields
• A strong level of resilience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs
