Green Infrastructure Programme Manager – Connecting Landscapes & Catchments

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Programme Manager to coordinate and expand delivery
of three of our strategic green infrastructure partnership programmes:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the project managers and our partners to ensure
that investment in these Green Infrastructure programmes is targeted to address need, links
objectives and actions across these landscapes and their water catchments to help create a more
sustainable and climate resilient place for people and nature.
The partnerships and their programmes, established and developing, seek to provide coordination
of projects led by various partners to enhance biodiversity and deliver water and environmental
resilience outcomes for the Avon Corridor, Cam and Wellow Catchment and Chew Catchment.
The role will support and develop the council’s strong commitment to addressing the climate and
ecological emergencies and ensure that the Council’s responsibilities in relation to natural
environment are more widely understood and delivered across all service areas. Thus, you will
work with and engage senior council officers including elected members as well as partners in
the West of England region including our existing partnerships and stakeholders, neighbouring
councils, and West of England Combined Authority.
The role requires significant experience of leading, developing project programmes, programme
management and budget and risk management processes. Candidates must be able to demonstrate
capability of preparing business cases and funding bids that have secured significant funding
packages.
As part of the Green Infrastructure and Nature Recovery Team in the Sustainable Economy Service
you will work with our other Green Infrastructure, Nature Recovery, and Climate Managers, as
well as the Landscape and Ecology specialists. You will be responsible for managing project
managers for the specific programmes.
This post is full time (37 hrs per week) fixed-term to 31/03/2026 initially, with the potential
to extend dependent upon the success of securing funding.
