Job description 

The post holder will deliver operational oversight for the King’s College London, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Campus by ensuring that the campus is fit for purpose and commensurate with the world-class research and clinical practice taking place. In this way, you will be supporting the College Strategic Vision 2029.

You must act on behalf of the College to ensure it fulfils its obligations under Health and Safety law, adhering to statutory requirements and providing a safe working environment.

The post holder will support the Associate Director of Campus Operations – Health in the development and delivery of tactical planning to meet the objectives of the estate wide Facilities Management strategy.

You will be responsible for the pastoral and performance management of the Campus Operations Team, to build trust, respect and high level of connectedness with all stakeholders, College Partners and Directorate, i.e. holistic one team approach.

You will undertake the delivery of campus projects, minor works and innovation projects to approved budget, ensuring effective contractor, supplier and vendor management to deliver performance in accordance with agreed operating models and budgets.

You will also undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Directorate and support and deputise for the Associate Director of Campus Operations – Health, in their absence of where  demands dictate.

This post is subject to Occupational Health clearance.

This post will be offered on an fixed term contract until 31-Jan-25.

This is a full-time post – 100% full time equivalent.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive knowledge of Facilities Management
  • NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Strong and effective communicator with the ability to effectively disseminate/communicate information to a variety of audiences and levels
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and multi-site environments
  • Flexible attitude and team player
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision
  • Logical, systematic problem solver
  • Experience of project management and budget control
  • Experience of compliance/Health and Safety Regulations pertaining to building management and project delivery
  • Desirable criteria

  • Educated to graduate level
  • Member of professional body
  • Previous experience of working within Higher Education sector
