Job Title: Head of Digital Design
Position: Permanent
Location: Rijswijk, The Netherlands
Salary Range: 95K – 105K EUR per annum
Client Information:
Looking for a Head of Digital Design to lead the digital team and drive the definition, planning, scheduling, and execution of the digital design roadmap.
Responsibilities:
• Defining, planning, scheduling, and executing the digital design roadmap for the next generation of SoC products.
• Guiding the digital design team to deliver on-time and to specification.
• Collaborating closely with the VP of Engineering and a multidisciplinary team to shape high-level architecture.
• Translating product features into architecture decisions, both macro and micro, and distributing tasks across the team.
• Taking full ownership of complex digital block design, particularly in the neuromorphic computing space, from microarchitecture to design and verification.
• Ensuring key performance metrics (power, throughput, robustness) are met throughout the design cycle and integrating them into a verification strategy.
• Identifying any IT roadblocks that may affect project schedules and mitigating risks proactively.
• Tracking team progress and delivering clear insights, while addressing potential challenges ahead of time.
• Leading by example – uniting the team, clarifying objectives, priorities, expectations, and timelines, and protecting the team to ensure focus and efficiency.
Requirements:
• Ability to drive and optimize digital design methodologies to achieve high-quality results.
• Exceptional analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work within multi-functional teams effectively.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of digital design experience in complex architectures.
• 4+ years of managing digital design teams.
• Expertise in computer architecture and complex SoC systems.
• Strong verification skills, with a focus on best practices and reuse.
• Ability to design complex digital modules from scratch, preferably in the fields of HW accelerators, computer vision, DSP, or neural networks.
• Knowledge of power-aware design and understanding of power domains.
• Experience with fast & slow communication protocols (SPI, I2C, MIPI, USB) and on-chip bus protocols (AMBA, OBI, NoC).
