With our strategy of “Teaching Intensive, Research Informed” we are committed to offering our students the best experience possible.We currently have a unique opportunity to join us as Head of Engineering, where the successful candidate will direct, lead and inspire the ongoing development of the University’s academic programmes, delivering on associated growth targets to cover industry skills gaps and needs, whilst ensuring positive student outcomes.In this career-defining role, you should be willing to embrace change and challenge current practices through leading innovative academic teaching practices, delivering learners and graduates that are in demand for their unique perspectives and approaches.You will encourage a people-centred, solutions-driven internal culture of entrepreneurialism, commerciality and quality, which breaks boundaries and sets the school apart from its competitors, creating a place where the best Engineering educators want to work.With leadership experience in Engineering in higher education or a “blue chip” complex Engineering organisation, you will be an excellent communicator with well-developed interpersonal and intercultural skills and the ability to engage with a range of audiences internally and externally within the UK and overseas.You will hold a PhD/Professional Doctorate in a field related to the future ambitions of the school or substantial relevant industry experience in a leadership and management role. You will also possess a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline alongside membership of a relevant professional body.It is envisaged that interviews will take place during the week commencing 5th May 2025.The University of Bolton strives to achieve equality of opportunity
