We’re looking for an experienced and passionate senior marketing and communications specialists to join our multi-disciplined Strategic Marketing and Digital team:
We want to hear from candidates who have experience:
● delivering marketing strategy (including market intelligence and proposition development), and
● who enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
● candidates with experience in delivering effective communications strategy,
● as well as advertising and brand campaign development.
You will also need to have:
● exceptional communication
● and time-management skills,
● and you’ll be able to take people with you, as a result of your collaborative approach and enthusiastic nature.
● You’ll have a good understanding of the strategic issues and challenges facing the Higher Education sector,
● and you’ll have an empathy with academic values and priorities.
You’ll do this working closely with the Faculty Executive teams, our academic colleagues as well as within a large, friendly and multi-disciplinary marketing and digital team, to deliver a wide range of marketing interventions.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the home of Philosophy, History, Criminology, Law to name a few areas of academic study, and an inquiring mind is essential for this role too. You will understand and appreciate the value of the Humanities and the Social Sciences in a time where government policy and economic imperatives are turning society away from these important areas of study.

Flexible working: The marketing team is based centrally on our Headington campus in a newly-refurbished open plan office, offering a range of workspaces. We combine time in the office for networking and major projects with regular working from home and remote working. We’ll occasionally need all colleagues to be on campus for training and development, and at peak times in the cycle. We welcome conversations about flexible working arrangements.
Annual leave allowance: We offer a generous package of annual leave in addition to standard bank holidays and additional University closure days. Up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days holiday (this includes 13 Bank Holidays and Concessionary Days.)
Pay increases: Your salary will increase each year in line with our pay scale in addition to cost of living awards that may be agreed for the University.

Interviews will take place Wednesday 18 October, 2023 on campus in Oxford. The process will consist of a presentation, formal interview and skills test. Once shortlisted the following details will be provided;
– Presentation question to address in a 10min presentation
– An outline of the skills test
– A set of potential interview questions
