Head of Health and Safety

- Reporting to: Executive Director of Estates and Capital Projects
- Salary: £54k-56k
Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in East London.Role Purpose
- Ensure all campuses are safe and fully compliant with health and safety legislation.
- Lead health and safety strategy, building a strong culture of safety across the organisation.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior leaders, staff, and departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage health and safety policies, training, and procedures.
- Oversee risk assessments, emergency plans, and incident investigations.
- Monitor and report on accidents, trends, and performance to senior management.
- Deliver training and ensure legal compliance across all sites.
- Liaise with contractors and external regulators to uphold safety standards.
- Maintain safety records, manage budgets, and support environmental initiatives where relevant.
Requirements
- Must hold a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
- Member of IOSH at Graduate or Chartered level.
- Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role across multiple locations.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, incident management, training delivery, and team leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational abilities.
