THE ROLE
The Head of Sustainability will be responsible for developing and embedding a future proof
culture of environmental and social sustainability across the organisation. Using exceptional
influencing and matrix management skills, they will lead the development and implementation of
an ambitious new social and environmental sustainability strategy.
In developing, monitoring and reporting on various sustainability commitments and targets
including maintaining our Environmental Management System, the role will need to work closely
and collaboratively at all levels within the Trust. We want to ensure that our approach to
internal sustainability aligns with our external public policy positions and influencing
objectives, is well evidenced, transparent and consistent across the organisation and with key
external networks and stakeholders
THE CANDIDATE
With substantial experience of leading an environmental sustainability function, ideally within
the Third Sector, you’ll have knowledge of current environmental and social sustainability
agendas both internationally and nationally, as well as relevant public policies and associated
regulatory and legal frameworks across the four countries of the UK
You’ll have experience of working across the wider environmental sector, including government
bodies, statutory bodies and the voluntary sector. You’ll be expected to demonstrate clear
vision and be able to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders the Trust whilst
inspiring at all levels to enhance the credibility and influence of the organisation.
