The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University announces a selection procedure for the position of head of the Department of Sociology at the Institute of Sociological Studies.

Job Description:

• management of the Department of Sociology
• coordination of creative and educational activities of the department
• responsibility for the development of the department and for the quality of educational activities
• direct management of employees assigned to the department and control of the performance of their tasks
• performance of other tasks determined by the faculty’s internal regulations, the dean’s measures or the director’s instructions

Specific Requirements

We require:

• completed doctoral studies in the field of sociology, social anthropology, or related fields (higher scientific and pedagogical rank welcome)
• teaching and research experience in the relevant field
• relevant publication and creative activity
• experience with leading a team
• excellent command of the English language in spoken and written form
• ability to teach in the English language
