The Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment by advising on best practices, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and leading safety initiatives. We encourage professionals to build their profiles today and connect with top opportunities worldwide.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety programs and policies.Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across worksites and facilities.Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards; provide detailed reports and follow-up actions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, WHMIS).Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions for employees and contractors.Advise management and staff on occupational health and safety matters.Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and first aid readiness.Liaise with regulatory agencies, third-party auditors, and internal stakeholders.Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and recommend improvements.Support development of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).Keep up to date with relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices.Qualifications:Degree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related discipline.3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in [industry-specific experience if needed, e.g., construction, manufacturing, oil & gas].In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory frameworks.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.Preferred Skills & Certifications:CRSP, NEBOSH, CHSC, or equivalent health and safety certifications.Experience with ISO 45001, COR, or other safety management systems.First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, or other relevant safety training certifications.Incident investigation (e.g., TapRooT, Root Cause Analysis) training.
