Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.
The HR Team at LJMU support the whole of the employee lifecycle from recruitment, induction, professional development and progression. We operate across all areas of the University’s activity, helping devise and implement people strategies and policies in relation to staff recognition and reward, equality and diversity, staff engagement and staff wellbeing as well as providing a comprehensive range of HR services.
We currently have a vacancy for a fixed term HR Resourcing and Operations Assistant, where the successful applicant can make an immediate and positive impact on the services we deliver to our circa 3,000 employees.
You will join a HR Resourcing team who are the first point of contact for all potential candidates and visitors to our busy department therefore have an important role to play and are often the face of the organisation. You will provide a high quality, customer focussed recruitment service which includes advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews and processing offers of employment and pre-employment checks, therefore excellent administration, communication and organisational skills are essential. You will also provide general administration support to the HR Operations team including generation of employment correspondence, providing purchasing support across the team and note-taking support in HR related meetings when required.
You will be regularly working on systems and respond to internal and external queries from potential candidates, hiring managers and staff, so the successful candidate needs to demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service with a great attention to detail and be experienced with IT packages such as Microsoft Office and Outlook. Previous experience of working within a HR department is essential, and experience of using HR systems including e-recruitment would be advantageous.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.
Working in the HR Department is fast paced, reactive, enjoyable and rewarding as you will be joining a team and University where diversity is valued, contribution is recognised, endeavour is supported and achievement is celebrated.
If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
We would encourage applications from all individuals who meet the advert criteria, but would particularly encourage applications from women; Black, Asian and ethnically diverse groups, LGBTQ+ groups; and disabled people. The University is proud of its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and endeavours to cultivate a staff base that is representative of society. Please let us know if you require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
