We are looking for a well-organised, confident and proactive administrator with experience of executive support, events management and social communications to support the Academic Director and Manager for a new Research Hub.

This role is part of the Faculty of Engineering’s Research Support Network which sits within the Industrial Liaison Office. This connects you with around 55 research professional staff in similar roles and provides support and a team environment.

  • Organise, promote and deliver a range of internal and external events.
  • Provide general administrative support – managing mailing lists, purchasing, booking travel and hotels, and supporting the Director and Hub Manager with recruitment and adhoc tasks.
  • Support management and Hub meetings – managing diaries, setting up meetings, minuting and updating actions.
  • Assist with financial tasks.
  • Lead on maintaining relevant websites, SharePoint Sites, social media accounts and newsletters.
  • Design and prepare a range of documents and publicity material.
  • You are enthusiastic and self-motivated, looking for an opportunity to combine an administrative role with events organising and communications.
  • You have excellent organisational skills along with flexibility and initiative and an ability to prioritise your workload.
  • You can build effective and collaborative working relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority, including from other organisations.
  • You have event management experience.
