Information Technology Specialist II

Job Description and Duties

The Information Technology Specialist II will have independent responsibility for the administration, maintenance, application and database development, documentation and support for the statewide DNA database, and in-house applications and databases within the CAL-DNA Data Bank Program. The State DNA Index System (SDIS) database must coordinate with and provide data to the National DNA Index System (NDIS) on an ongoing basis through a wide area network. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data mining, analysis and problem definition, project management, application design and development, database design, applying necessary enhancements and features to new and existing applications, and the development of statewide plans for databases that interface with local laboratories and NDIS.
