Digital Technology Services (DTS) is a large service focused on enabling, implementing and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University community.
The role of the Infrastructure Consultants will be responsible for leading the future technical roadmap, development and requirements gathering for building and maintaining services in the team. You will work with the Head of CNI (Platforms), Service Managers and Infrastructure Analysts in the team, also with third party consultants as appropriate.
This is a technical lead role leading the service along with the Head’s of CNI (Platforms or Endpoint & Software Infrastructure or Servers & Storage), mentoring staff, leading on work packages, and helping lead on technical standards. You will be working alongside others to ensure the service operates as effectively and efficiently as possible for the needs of the University.
You will be responsible for leading on the future technical roadmap, development and requirements gathering for each service, with expertise for each team of;
• Platforms – SQL Server
• Endpoint & Software Infrastructure – MAC service, mobile management, Azure Virtual Desktop services along with supporting the Windows service etc.
• Servers & Storage – Linux. Windows.
The teams are made up of Consultants, Senior Infrastructure Analysts and Infrastructure Analysts. You will also be required to work alongside other members of DTS and third-party consultants. These are technical consultant roles responsible for providing technical direction to support the wider University strategies and contribute to the strategic direction of DTS.
The ideal candidate will be someone with extensive experience, as mentioned above for each area, who is wanting to expand their knowledge in a wide ranging dynamic and supportive environment to deliver an excellent service.
Experience in an ITIL based service environment would be useful.
Experience of building strong working relationships with key senior stakeholders to enable future decision making and planning alongside mentoring team members will also be great experience to bring to the role.
