About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Database and Insight team who
manage our supporter data ensuring records are accurate, and compliant for our engagement
activities.
As the insight Officer, you will deliver targeted insight-led data selections for our
fundraising activities. You will work within the agreed timelines to provide insight into the
best pools of prospects for the activity, providing data selections, ensuring the data is
accurate with the correct consents in place to ensure compliance, and providing monitoring and
reporting against activities.
Contributing to the work of the Fund Raising and Supporter Engagement Team, you will gather
data requirements for fundraising activities. You will also be a key individual in the data
aspect of planning and management of campaign activities for the data and reporting aspects
along with ensuring the data selected is accurate and compliant. Other duties include
responsibility for managing campaign activity data and maintaining supporter records for onward
stewardship. working alongside the database an insight manager, you will create a suite of
impactful insight reports for colleagues, using both internal and external sources.
During the first year, you will particularly focus on data requirement gathering from
fundraising & e-commerce team (FSE) to develop a robust process to extract compliant data.
About you
You should have proven experience of working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
systems, with the ability to collaborate with a broad range of colleagues.
You will have a high level of computer literacy, in particular advanced skills in Excel, e.g.
SQL, visual/basic macros, pivot tables, complex formulas and linked data
We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of analysis and reporting/data visualisation tools, as
well as your working knowledge of applicable legislation and ethical codes of practice, and a
solid understanding of direct marketing (including digital marketing), preferably in a charity
context.
