Internship Opportunity in the Directorate of Commercialisation, Industry and Competitiveness.

Our team and mission
Topic 1 and 2 can be based:
- At the ESA HQ – Paris, France
- At the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) – Noordwijk, Netherlands
Topic 3 will be based at the ESA Centre for Earth Observation (ESRIN) – Frascati, Italy
The ESA Commercialisation Gateway is a a single, cross-directorate, ESA-wide service, providing one single interface to new external actors.
Through a common outreach action towards new actors, the Commercialisation Gateway raises the awareness on opportunities for commercial research and applications involving Space, creates new links between new and emerging business sectors and the capabilities being developed in ESA programmes;thus, facilitating access to ESA wide funding sources.
It also strengthens and consolidates ESA internal competence for evaluation of business plans, supports cross-cutting sectoral activities (e.g. use of exploration infrastructures for applications).

Field(s) of activity for the internship
You can choose between the following topics:
1) Topic 1: Market intelligence in downstream sector
You will contribute to implementation of the market intelligence function of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway
This includes:
- Supporting the team inidentifying new market opportunities in downstream sectors for space enbled solutions( i.e. enargy, health, transport, etc)
- Monitoring through the Market Intelligence tool (Digimind) new tendencies (political, economic, society, technological,environmental, legal) that can influence the space sector at global level.
- Supporting the team in modelling the new ecosystem. Lead the actions to: Obtain the know-how of the actors, the influencers, etc., Evaluate the competitor’s landscape;
- Supporting the customer engagement strategy, once the main actors in the new market spaces are identified;
- Supporting the team in preparing public reports for communication purposes synthtising the latest market trends in a dedicated domain
.
2) Topic 2: Future markets creation and opportunities
You will contribute to the implementation of the market intelligence function of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway.
This includes:
- Supporting the team in identifying emerging new market trends, market disruptions and opportunity in the space sector and support the definition of the associated engagement strategy
- Supporting the team in modelling the new ecosystem. Lead the actions to Obtain the know-how of the actors, the influencers, etc., Evaluate the competitor’s landscape;
- Supporting the customer engagement strategy, once the main actors in the new market spaces are identified;
- Supporting the team in preparing

3) Topic 3: Digital marketing
You will be involved in the digital marketing activities of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway.
This includes:
- Supporting the management of the social media account of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway, identifying relevant topics and drafting posts to be published on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook;
- Supporting the e-mail marketing activities, working on: A monthly newsletter, aimed at an external audience with the most interesting news and events of the last month; A weekly newsletter, sent to an internal ESA audience with the most relevant social media posts of the week;
- Supporting the publishing on the ESA Commercialisation Gateway website of: news; events; business opportunities; use cases and success stories;
You will work in close collaboration with the Digital Marketing Officer of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway

Education
You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.
Additional requirements
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
