Intern Portfolio ManagementWholesale Banking, LendingLocation: Av Marnix 24, 1000 Brussels50% work from home (fixed days, team agreement)A day in the life of an intern Portfolio ManagementAs part of the front office Portfolio Management team, your responsibility as an intern is to support the team to actively manage the lending portfolio and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. You will be exposed to and work with different colleagues from several sectors, origination and advisory teams, Risk and Legal whilst aligning with back office / support teams. At the same time, the Portfolio Management team plays a key role in further optimizing our processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization.Support the team in managing all aspects of the lending transactions booked in the portfolioPerform diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of financial covenants and operating performanceIdentify and resolve of Early Warning Signals for a deterioration in credit qualityMonitor and identify market developments and manage their potential impact on your portfolioBuild a culture of operational excellence and support the implementation of strategic initiativesHow to succeedAs an intern, we expect you toFollow a relevant masters’ degree and finish studies in econometrics, economics, business engineering or relevant business discipline. CFA a plusStrong financial and analytical skills, demonstrated with good grades in relevant coursesHave an interest in the Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate and/or Transportation sectorBe an inclusive team player with consistent high marks on “Orange” behaviourBe a committed and dedicated individual who wants to continuously improveBe fluent in English. It covers all activities post the initial funding to the final repayment of a lending transaction. As a front office department, it will closely collaborate with Origination & Structuring colleagues and product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience. The Portfolio Management function is organised along product and sector considerations. Each portfolio manager covers a set of portfolio clients and act as the first point of contact for the ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk and other reporting. Portfolio Management supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also closely involved in the delivery of ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will be supported by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines.Would you like to get to know the department better?
