IE University’s School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs is looking for a Junior Manager to join its team!The IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs is dedicated to teaching, researching and reflecting on world affairs. The mission of the School is to shape internationally oriented professionals for excellence, achievement, and leadership in an increasingly complex and multipolar world. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are fully taught in English and combine a multidisciplinary approach to professional education with the application of theory to practical issues in global affairs.The IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs is running a Bachelor in International Relations (BIR) and a Bachelor in Economics (BIE) and from September 2025, a new Bachelor’s in Political Science. In addition, the School offers dual degrees with Law (LLBBIR), with Business Administration (BBABIR), with Economics (BIEBIR) and Applied Mathematics (BIEBAM) and a Dual Bachelor in Business Administration and Political Science that will begin on September 2025 in the Segovia Campus.The Junior Manager is responsible for the operative execution of events, development of new initiatives, trips and partnership activities associated with our Undergraduate Programs. This comprises coordinating tasks among various team members; overseeing the implementation of guidelines and policies; monitoring logistics and processes inside and outside the IE University Campus– including the direct services by the Program Management team and coordination with various departments to ensure a world-class experience for students.The Junior Manager will report to the Associate Director, the Executive Director and Vice-Dean of Undergraduate programs of the School. The Junior Manager will collaborate and liaise with team of Program Coordinators and Program Assistants, and will interact with internal and external counterparts for a series of events and partnerships developed in the academic programs.The post will be located on the campus in Madrid and might include regular visits to the other campus in Segovia.Why IE University?With 50 years of experience and founded by and for entrepreneurs, IE University has turned business education on its head through disruptive teaching. We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid. Responsibilities:Your role as a Junior Manager will involve:The candidate must feel comfortable working in a busy environment that will require multi-tasking and the ability to manage a high volume of work. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, enjoy interacting with students and be a team player. The most relevant tasks managed by the Junior Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:Program Development and Management:

  • Manage the day-to-day implementation of extracurricular activities to ensure its successful delivery.
  • Coordinate and supervise the key administrative processes to improve and implement new initiatives.
  • Plan and organize a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including events, workshops, research programs, seminars, conferences, competitions, trips, etc.
  • Collaborate with different departments at IE and external partners in cross-functional projects.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of extracurricular programs to assess their impact and effectiveness and to make informed decisions and implement improvements for future activities.

Internal and External Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between students and the School, actively seeking student input and feedback to tailor extracurricular activities to their needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate with external partners the development of activities that enhance the School’s innovative pedagogy.
  • Identify ways to improve the student experience and engagement with the academic footprint.
  • Foster relationships with student club officers to collaborate on various projects

Communications:

  • Design and develop materials to promote extracurricular activities and events.
  • Maintain and enhance policy guidelines and other materials for students.

Administration:

  • Logistical coordination for the execution activities (administrative procedures, bookings, payments, management of data bases, etc.).
  • Manage a high volume of e-mails and respond and follow-up to different requests.
  • Carry out any other related task requested by the senior management.

Qualifications:To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Bilingual, or advanced proficiency, in English and Spanish (written and oral).
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, including supervisory functions.
  • Any proven experience in higher education management would be highly valuable.
  • Strong management capabilities
  • Background in Politics, Policy, International Relations, Economics or related fields.
  • Solid ability to work under pressure and high level of accountability.
  • Ability to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder environments, as well as excellent communication skills and a strong customer orientation, are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Curious, eager to learn, open-minded, and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Strong desire to work in a multicultural and politically savvy environment.
  • Candidates must possess a valid EU work permit.
