Offer Description
The postdoctoral researcher will work in the ROBIN team on the development of tools for Genetic Code Expansion (GCE) to understand cortical actomyosin dynamics during development and morphogenesis in the early C. elegans embryo. The research program will use classical cell/developmental biology, genetics and microscopy techniques to quantitatively analyze actin assembly dynamics during early embryonic development.
Main activities:
• TIRF microscopy on C. elegans embryo and image analysis using FIJI and MATLAB
• Analysis of experimental results
• Writing of regular reports of experimental results in graphic form
• Presenting your results to the research team in lab meetings
• Formatting and writing of results in English for publication in a scientific journal
Secondary activities:
• Generation of CRISPR lines by injection
• Generation of molecular biology constructs for the generation of transgenic lines for fluorescence imaging purposes
• Transmission of knowledge to junior team members
The post-doctoral researcher will work in the team of François ROBIN, within the Laboratory of Developmental Biology (LBD, UMR 7622-ERL 1156) of the Institute of Biology Paris-Seine (IBPS). The LBD brings together 17 teams working in the field of Developmental Biology and is part of the IBPS which brings together around 600 people working in the fields of Evolution, Neurosciences, Aging and Adaptive Biology, Developmental Biology, and Quantitative and Computational Biology. UMR7622 is supported by UPMC, CNRS and INSERM. François ROBIN’s team was founded in 2016. It is supported by PRC funding from the ANR. The team is working on the role of cortical actomyosin during the development and morphogenesis of the early embryo of C. elegans.
