About the Role
Nottingham School of Art & Design are increasing their pool of technical bank staff to increase flexibility to the School and to provide additional support to students during evenings and weekends and could be required to work at short notice.
You will work under the direction of the School Technical Managers in demonstrating equipment and techniques to students, provide technical support and guidance to staff and students on undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes in the School workshops and studios.
You will able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently within a team. You will be able to communicate ideas of a complex and technical nature to students, using a variety of methods and have detailed knowledge of the workshop area with teaching and/or industry experience.
Experience is essential in one or more of the following areas:
- Industrial Linking machines
- Industrial overlock machines
- Industrial lockstitch machines
- Garment construction
- Pattern Cutting
Working with related machinery, techniques and processes.
You will be educated to NVQ/City and Guilds Level and or relative experience in a relevant subject area. An in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety regulations are required.
