Lab Manager – Analytical methods Chemistry/Materials

Danone Analytical Excellence team, belonging to Global Quality and Food Safety (QFS) entity, aims at developing and ensuring a highly responsive, reliable, and cost effective QFS laboratory network, gathering internal & external capabilities, to deal with all analytical needs, from emerging topics to regulatory requirements, to protect consumers and patients trusting our brands.

MISSIONS

Integrated to a multidisciplinary team of 20 persons within Danone Global French Analytical Expertise Center, you will be responsible to develop and implement analytical methods applied to materials and food matrices, contributing to expand the capabilities of the laboratory to answer to analytical needs of global and local Quality and Food Safety teams, Operations and R&D teams, according to ISO/CEI 17025 standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a team of 7 technicians to guarantee the completion of tests and validation of results, in a rigorous quality environment (ISO 17025 accredited laboratory)
• Be the preferred contact and ensure interface with customers in the field of chemistry/materials testing (Quality, Research and Development Services)
• Propose relevant technical solutions to requests related to container-content interaction
• Participate in analytical developments and performance evaluations of the department’s methods, hand-in-hand with the analytical development manager
• Interact with external laboratories on analytical topics of interest to the group
• Ensure the interface with equipment suppliers for the development and maintenance of the analytical equipment.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the laboratory.
• Owner of a Master degree in analytical chemistry, you have at least 5 years of experience in the field of analyses related to materials and/or contaminants in water and/or food, as well as a good knowledge of chromatography techniques and successful team management experience.
• Ideally you have experienced working in an accredited environment (ISO 17025 standard or equivalent).
• You demonstrate a good sense of organization, rigor and good adaptability. You have excellent interpersonal skills and ease in terms of communication and posture (in English and in French).
• You are proactive, rigorous, organized and autonomous in order to manage different projects in parallel.
