We are currently recruiting for a Labor Relations Manager / Responsable Relations Sociales to join our legal team. We offer hybrid working, 3 days in office 2 days working from home, it will be a full time permanent contract. We are looking for fluency in both French and English and request applications be submitted in English to assess fluency level. 

This role liaises closely with HR, H&S, legal, management teams, as well as employee stakeholders across retail. In addition to external labour, legal and health related professional organisations. Reporting into the HR Manager France based in our Paris office you will support key areas which include individual & collective relations, management advisory support which includes education, training and development.

As Labor Relations Manager / Responsable Relations Sociales here’s what you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the HR Director and business leaders, you will build and maintain short and long term constructive relations with employee representatives and union bodies.
  • You will communicate with stakeholders the social calendar for the year, including regular and additional, works council meetings, bargainings and any important key dates and milestones
  • Act as advisor to the line managers on individual and collective labor law topics
  • Undertake risk assessments providing appropriate recommendations related to case submissions
  • Complex case handling
  • Provide training and support to labor law advisor, HR team members and managers to adeptly handle any proceedings
  • Process implementation, creation and delivery of training materials on labor law related topics
  • Participate to meetings together with HR Director
  • Inform and consult the employee and union representatives on projects implemented in the french market and group, respecting legal obligations and calendars 
  • Provide support to the HR team in following up on projects
  • Prepare and co-lead bargainings (salary annual bargaining, company agreements) with HR director, ensure discussions with management and union representatives
  • Create company agreements documents and handles coordination signature and sharing to relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage process of employee representatives elections from A to Z
  • Ensure cost minimisation to the business, create, manage and optimize budget for the labor law department
  • Tender and select external partners in the framework of company rules
  • Develop, coach and manage a labor relations advisor
  • Preparing reports for submission to local and global management
  • Conduct surveys and studies and is proactive in initiating projects and activities to improve the employee relations and work environment in the French market
  • Deputize HRD as representative of the company at the Retail employer Federation

  • Trustworthy and able to build relationships at all levels in the business
  • Ability to take balanced approach in all situations
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills Including English speaking and written skills at B2 or better. 
  • The ability to mentor, coach, educate and train in an engaging way
  • A high degree of flexibility, a hands on approach and strong integrity and work ethics Business and results oriented
  • A high degree of organization organization skills and manage workload effectively
  • Master’s degree in labor law
  • Extensive experience (+/- 8 years) in managing individual and collective labor law matters
  • Experience in a global environment preferably within retail or hospitality
