This is a valuable opportunity for a self-motivated lawyer to contribute to ClientEarth’s mission of protecting people and the planet through the power of the law. The position will primarily focus on safeguarding and restoring terrestrial and freshwater species, habitats and ecosystems in EU Member States and beyond.The role involves legal research, strategic litigation, advocacy and capacity building aimed at ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of strong nature laws. You will be supporting the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy and the Nature Restoration Regulation in Member States, countering efforts to weaken nature laws and agreements at the EU and international level, and contributing to interventions outside of the EU to facilitate the implementation of the area-based nature conservation and restoration targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework. You will have the opportunity to support other Terrestrial and Freshwater Ecosystems Team colleagues in their projects and develop your own interventions.Meet your ManagerIn this role, you will be managed by . Marta joined ClientEarth in 2018 and is based in Warsaw. Marta has been with ClientEarth for almost 7 years and specializes in policy and legal frameworks underpinning nature conservation and restoration, with a focus on establishment and governance of protected areas.Main Duties
