QuNorth, a pioneering quantum technology company backed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and EIFO, is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is your chance to lead one of Europe’s most ambitious quantum initiatives; building a company from the ground up, driving innovation, and positioning the Nordics as a global quantum powerhouse. If you thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and leadership, this is your moment.The Job and the OrganisationAs the CEO of QuNorth, you will be the driving force behind a transformative quantum technology venture. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building the company from scratch, including recruitment, culture, and structure.
• Leading the strategic development of quantum use cases across industries such as pharma, logistics, finance, and energy.
• Establishing partnerships with top-tier academic institutions, industry leaders, and international quantum hubs.
• Promoting QuNorth globally to attract investment, talent, and collaboration.
• Anchoring intellectual property and innovation in the Nordic region.
• Overseeing the launch and operation of Denmark’s first Level 2 quantum computer by Q4 2026.
• Reporting directly to the Board of Directors with full autonomy and accountability.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a purpose-driven, high-impact organization at the frontier of science and technology.QuNorth is located in Copenhagen, and the CEO should be present on-site most of the time when not traveling (~20–40 days per year).Professional and Personal QualificationsWe are looking for a charismatic communicator who can engage with researchers, investors, and policymakers alike. In a blend of technical insight, commercial acumen, and entrepreneurial spirit. The new CEO has to lead in a holistic and empathic style and drive the ‘Nordic’ leadership culture.Experience & Expertise

• Proven success in building or scaling startups, ideally in deep tech or advanced computing.
• Strong commercial and strategic leadership skills.
• Deep understanding of quantum technology and its commercial potential.
• Experience in academic, governmental, or industrial research environments.
• International recognition or strong networks in the global quantum community is a major plus.

Education

• Academic background in Physics, Quantum Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
• A PhD is preferred but not required.

Personal Qualities

• Charismatic communicator with the ability to engage researchers, investors, and policymakers.
• Politically savvy and skilled in stakeholder management.
• Empathetic team builder with resilience and a hands-on approach.
• Fluent in English; Danish is a plus.
